UWCC celebrates most succesful season ever!
UWCC finished in 6th place on the club championship after 1st grade narrowly missed out on the club's maiden premership. 1st grade finished the season 2nd, whilst 2nd grade came in 7th after a number of tight games, good wins and near misses.
Finals wrap: 1st
Grade played hard on the weekend in their first grand
final appearance. Taking to the field first, Unis showed why they had
made the final with Susan Daniels taking a classic diving catch. The
bowlers fought well and were backed up by some excellent fielding and
were on top for most of the session, Bankstown fought back but were all
out for 145.
Unis went into bat with determination but found it tough going on a pitch which hasn't yielded many runs over the last few weeks. The regular fall of wickets undid our challenge for the trophy, despite some desperate stands by our lower order we fell short of the mark making 90 runs.
Congratulations to all of first grade for getting so far in the competition, lets see if we can take out our maiden premiership in 2008-2009!
